Long-term care coverage details

Long-term care insurance generally covers costs incurred from care or services provided when an insured requires assistance with day-to-day tasks such as bathing, eating, and getting dressed. It can cover care provided in a variety of settings or facilities, as well as in-home care.

While the details vary by policy, reimbursement for covered services will typically not occur until the following conditions have been met:

  • Benefit eligibility has been reviewed and approved
  • Your care Provider has been approved
  • Any applicable Elimination Period (also referred to as a Waiting or Qualification Period) has been satisfied
